This Cookie Policy explains how MobileStorePK uses cookies and similar technologies on mobilestorepak.com. It covers what cookies are, which ones we set, why we use them, and how you can control them. Read this alongside our Privacy Policy for the full picture of how we handle your data.

§ 01 — Overview

Cookies, plain and simple.

TL;DR
In plain English

We use a small set of first-party cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, no fingerprinting.

MobileStorePK ("we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar storage technologies (collectively, "cookies") to operate the service, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioural profiling, or any form of tracking that follows you across other websites.

This policy applies to all MobileStorePK properties, including mobilestorepak.com, the mobile applications, and the dealer portal. By using these services, you agree to the use of essential cookies described below. Non-essential cookies (analytics, preferences) can be disabled through your browser settings without losing access to the service.

§ 02 — What Cookies Are

What is a cookie?

TL;DR
In plain English

Tiny text files your browser saves to remember things between visits — like staying signed in or keeping dark mode selected.

A cookie is a small piece of text data stored in your browser by a website you visit. The next time you visit, the site reads that text to recognize you, remember your settings, or maintain your session. Cookies come in different flavors:

First-party
Set by the website you're visiting (mobilestorepak.com). We only use first-party cookies.
Third-party
Set by external services embedded on a page. We do not use third-party cookies for tracking.
Session
Deleted when you close your browser. Used for short-lived state like a login attempt.
Persistent
Stored for a set period (days, weeks, months). Used for remembering preferences or keeping you signed in.
Essential
Required for the site to function. Cannot be disabled without breaking core features.
Non-essential
Improve the experience but aren't required (e.g., remembering dark mode).

We also use localStorage and sessionStorage in some places — these are similar to cookies but stay entirely in your browser and are never sent to our servers. They're covered by this policy too.

§ 03 — Cookies We Use

The full cookie list.

TL;DR
In plain English

Five cookies total, all first-party. Four are essential for the site to work. One is for analytics that doesn't track you personally.

3.1 Authentication cookies

__session
Essential. Set by Clerk (our authentication provider) when you sign in. Keeps you logged in across page visits. Expires after 7 days of inactivity. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax.
__client_uat
Essential. Tracks the last time your authentication state was checked. Used by Clerk to determine if a session refresh is needed. Expires when session expires.

3.2 Preference cookies

mspk_theme
Remembers your dark or light mode preference. Set when you toggle the theme. Expires after 365 days.
mspk_compare
Stores the slugs of phones you've added to comparison. Cleared automatically when you remove all phones from compare. Expires after 30 days.

3.3 Analytics cookies

_va
Set by Vercel Analytics. Counts unique visitors using a daily-rotating hash — no personal data, no cross-site tracking, no IP address logging. Expires after 24 hours.

3.4 Local storage we use

Some preferences are stored entirely in your browser using localStorage. They never reach our servers:

  • mspk_recent_searches — Your last 10 search queries on the search page (for the recent searches dropdown)
  • mspk_dismissed_banners — Which announcement banners you've closed (so they don't reappear)
  • mspk_compare_picker_state — Temporary state for the compare picker (which phones you're considering)

You can clear all of this through your browser's storage settings without affecting your account.

§ 04 — Why We Use Them

Why we set cookies.

TL;DR
In plain English

To run the service: keep you signed in, remember your preferences, count visitors anonymously, and prevent fraud. Nothing else.

Each cookie we set serves a specific purpose:

  1. Authentication: Without session cookies, you'd have to sign in on every page. The __session and __client_uat cookies are core to making accounts work.
  2. Personalization: Theme and preference cookies remember your choices so you don't have to reconfigure them every visit.
  3. State persistence: Compare list and search history make multi-step workflows feel continuous.
  4. Aggregated analytics: Vercel Analytics tells us which pages are most visited, which features need work, and where users drop off — all anonymized at the data source.
  5. Security: Some cookies help us detect unusual sign-in patterns, prevent bot abuse, and protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks.
Our commitment

We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, behavioural profiling, cross-site tracking, or selling data to third parties. If we ever change this, we'll update this policy and notify all registered users 30 days in advance.

§ 05 — Third-party Cookies

Third-party services.

TL;DR
In plain English

We don't embed advertising trackers. The only third-party services we use are Clerk (sign-in) and Vercel (hosting + analytics) — both privacy-respecting.

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate. Each is selected for its privacy practices and limited data collection. Here's the full list:

5.1 Clerk (authentication)

When you sign in or sign up, your authentication is handled by Clerk. Clerk sets the __session and __client_uat cookies described above. Clerk does not share your data with advertisers. Read their privacy policy for details.

5.2 Vercel (hosting & analytics)

The site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel Analytics counts pageviews using anonymized, rotating hashes. No personal data is collected, no IP addresses are stored, and there are no cross-site identifiers. Read the Vercel privacy policy.

5.3 Cloudflare (DNS & CDN)

Cloudflare provides DNS and CDN services. Cloudflare may set cookies for bot protection (__cf_bm) — these are essential security cookies that don't track personal browsing behavior. Read the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Note about embedded content

If you click an outbound link (to a dealer, manufacturer, news source, or social platform), that destination operates under its own cookie policy. We have no control over what cookies external sites set.

§ 06 — Your Choices

Your choices.

TL;DR
In plain English

You can disable any cookie from your browser. Essential ones break the site if you remove them; non-essential ones just reset your preferences each visit.

You're in full control of cookies on your device. Here's what each option does:

  • Keep all cookies (default): Best experience — preferences remembered, signed-in across visits.
  • Disable non-essential cookies: Site still works, but theme and preferences reset each visit. Analytics also disabled.
  • Disable all cookies: You can browse but can't sign in. Account features won't work.
  • Clear cookies anytime: Signs you out and resets all preferences. Account data on our servers is unaffected.

We do not currently use a cookie consent banner because we don't set any non-essential third-party tracking cookies. If we ever add cookies that require consent under GDPR or Pakistan's data protection rules, we'll add a clear, granular consent banner before doing so.

§ 07 — Browser Controls

Managing cookies in your browser.

TL;DR
In plain English

Every browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies. Links below take you straight to the right settings page for each.

Each browser has built-in cookie management. Here are direct links to the relevant settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. Or visit chrome://settings/cookies.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Or visit about:preferences#privacy.
  • Safari (macOS): Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Safari (iOS): Settings app → Safari → Advanced → Website Data.
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies. Or visit edge://settings/content/cookies.
  • Brave: Settings → Shields → Cross-site cookies blocked (default).

You can also use private/incognito browsing mode in any browser, which discards all cookies at the end of the session.

§ 08 — Do Not Track

Do Not Track signals.

TL;DR
In plain English

We don't track you, with or without a Do Not Track signal. Our behavior doesn't change based on it.

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal you can enable to ask websites not to track you. Since MobileStorePK doesn't use any tracking cookies regardless, DNT signals don't change our behavior — we already don't do the thing DNT asks us not to do.

The same applies to the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal — we respect it by default for everyone.

§ 09 — Policy Changes

Changes to this policy.

TL;DR
In plain English

We'll email you 30 days before any material change. Minor edits (typos, link updates) get silent updates with a bumped version.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, new tools we adopt, or legal requirements. When we make material changes:

  • We'll email all registered users at least 30 days before the change takes effect
  • We'll display a notice at the top of the site for 60 days
  • The previous version will remain available at mobilestorepak.com/legal/archive
  • For non-material updates (typo fixes, link corrections, version bumps), we update silently with a new version number and updated date

The current version is v1.0, last updated May 1, 2026.

§ 10 — Contact

TL;DR
